Attention all FMHA and AMHA Youth Club Members! The 2016 Citrus Cup Regional Championship Morgan Horse Show will be holding a Youth of the Year Contest. To participate, download the registration form below.
There will be two divisions:
- Senior Division (14-21)
- Junior Division (13 & under)
Each division will be judged on 1) Horsemanship Pattern, 2) Judging, 3) Written Exam, 4) Oral Presentation

Time Schedule for the Contest
Judging Contest —The three classes for the judging portion of the contest will be class number 96, 105, and 112. Class number 105 will be the class for presenting oral reasons. Any youth participating in the contest will need to be in the stands sitting with Sandy Ferrera during these three classes and turn their cards in directly to her. Immediately following the Friday morning session, Diane Tanguay will judge the oral reasons for class number 105.
Speech — Thursday, April 7, 5:00 pm in the Meeting Hall (time allowed is 3-5 minutes)
Speech Topic: You are setting up a therapeutic riding center, and the grant you are writing for asks what breed of horse you are using (preferably the Morgan horse) for the program and why? Some questions to address: What population people are you helping in your program; what type of disabilities do they have; what is the age group you are assisting? Visuals and handouts are encouraged for entries to use.
Patterns — Friday, April 8, 5:00-6:00 pm in the arena | Walk-Trot Pattern | Walk-Trot-Canter Pattern | Driving Pattern
Written Exam — Friday, April 8, 8:00 am AND Saturday, April 9, 1:00 pm
The winner of each division will be qualified to compete in the Youth of the Year Contest at the 2016 Morgan Grand National & World Championship Horse Show in October!
